Boeing 777X Heads to Iceland for Crosswind Testing

The Boeing 777-9 test aircraft, registration N779XW and designated WH001 in the 777X flight test program, has departed for Iceland to carry out crosswind tests.

The tests aim to evaluate the aircraft’s performance against crosswinds of varying direction and intensity, particularly during takeoff and landing.

Crosswind testing is an important part of the 777X certification process, as it helps verify the aircraft’s flight characteristics and operational limits.
